As someone has also posted you need to heat the bent portion of the cab roof. I use hand held bottled torch. You gently heat and then bend. You must do it all very slowly and don't use metal tools that will leave a mark. I use blocks of wood and plastic hammer etc. Of course you will have to re-paint that section of the roof. Its all trial and error. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. If your intrested in me trying let me know but I cannot gauantee anything.

How To and Technical Information / Post War Lionel F-3 Power Trucks
« on: June 01, 2021, 04:29:22 PM »
Hi everyone, does anyone have easy way to get the wheels away from the power truck far enough so you can get wheel puller on? I have tried many methods from prying with large screw driver to punching on the axle. All of these run risk of damage to either bending an axle, axle busjing or wheel. I was thinking some type of wedge if something like that is avaiable. I have tried diffrent wheel pullers put they all require more space than is avaiable bwteen the truck frame and wheel.

Just my 2 cents. Unless you need the money keep them! I sold my collection due to divorce. I hated to part with it. You have heard the saying he whom dies with the most toys wins........LOL. Keep playing with them and collecting. It will keep you young.

Good day. Just wanted to say Hi. New to the Train99Forum. Looking forward to using it. I collect, repair and restore post war Lionel. I have nice shop including wheel press and good parts inventory. This is a hobby and not a business. I enjoy keeping post war trains going. I was fortunate to learn from an older gentleman who has passed on. I am also working on operating layout in my free time LOL. You all know what I mean. That's it for now.
