I throw out the beat up tanks and use the frames for flatcars. I put old toy trucks and such on them.

I play O gauge toy trains every morning. Use to be a hobby but today it's therapy to face these times of stress. I'd like to see your layout. Please post a video for all us old trains lovers. Manufacturers make no difference.

I have gotten interested in prewar Lionel because Jim sold me one of his Lionel 226E's. However, I don't have the cars that go with it. I've been finding them and 99% are very rough. Plus, missing parts. Here is a video of some of the work I've been doing.

I have the orange roof wabash boxcar with clipped corners. I "overpaid" for it in a Stout auction years ago and have never regretted it.

I bought a bunch o'goodies today from the original owner. Lots 1942 gray items including an 068 warning signal. Some will end up on the layout.

The rush from getting the green 152 is gone so now I'm on the hunt again.

Terry, yes the 154 is a late body, wide frame. I didn't have one in dark green. This one showed up in the condition I wanted so I filled a hole with that one. I don't have a dark olive 154 either. Clipped Corner Cabooses are harder to find than the CC Boxcars. I'd like to have an orange roof CC 800 Boxcar so I keep looking.

I don't have that caboose. How many cabooses did you look at to find that one? A thousand? Five thousand? Well worth the effort.

The 154 is just a late body 154. The one with the screws parallel to the rails. Or am I missing something.   I have 5 early body - 4 dark green and an olive, but only 2 late body ones one each dark green and olive.  Maybe they made them for fewer years, or maybe just fewer changes.

The 150 in gray is neat. There's probably just a handful of those around.

General Discussion / My second Lionel 226E and cars

I just completed repairing/restoring a Lionel prewar 226E. Jim sent me some cars for it that needed attention. Here is a video of how far I've gotten with this project. Prewar Lionel are allot of fun. Parts are getting hard to find but most are available.
