In another thread, the 114 boxcar variation with CMSP lettering instead of normal CMStP lettering was brought up, mentioned that it could be an old repaint.
This is a very legitimate variation. I have 2, one has Lionel Lines large end stamp and other has Lionel MFG emboss underside, both are brownish-orange, assumed to be late Manufacturing production.

There are (at least) 3 different numbers that can appear on the 114 boxcar, and different fonts were used over the span of production.

Most 14 boxcars that I have seen are CM&StP

I was lucky to find an orange #14 that has NYNH&HRR lettering

Correction.....NYC&HRRR lettering
-
I learn something every day. I'll have to start paying more attention to the names in addition to the numbers.
I have the 14 with NYC&HRRR 4351, but it was compounded and most of the lettering is gone.
Since were doing the 14 and 114 boxcars here's the ones I have that aren't already shared by Jim.
Here's a 114 CM&StP 54087. It has Lionel MFG embossed on floor, nickel plated trucks, Couplers are reattached and don't match. I think this is early and the crinkle coupler is correct.
Early red 14 with emboosed sides and black lines. CM&StP 9050. Cream primer with Lionel MFG embossed on underside. This is my oldest 14 boxcar.
I shared this in an earlier thread, but here it is again for completeness. Dark Green 14 made for Harmony Creamer. It has 14 and Lionel Corp stamped on bottom.
