Layouts / Re: POST YOUR BRIDGES on Layouts
« on: January 30, 2021, 10:16:51 AM »
I have 2 American Flyer wooden trestle bridges on the upper level of my layout. One is the long  bridge with lights and tele poles, missing 1 pole.
I also showed a Marklin overhead foot bridge......does that count as a bridge?

Sure it does, thanks for posting I never saw one before. You too Terry.
There are trestle bridges and some bridges have trestles.  :)
Copy and paste,
A bridge is a structure that connects two or more points allowing access across railways, rivers, streams, ravines, etc., whereas a trestle is a framework structure that some long bridges are built upon. That framework consists of vertical, slanted and cross pieces that are used to support the bridge.

Did you make sure that the drawbars are not hitting the center rail?

I never had a Z4000 but at being a 400 watt transformer I would think that would be no problem.
And for the price you would think it should be.

Speaking of garages. . .

I was walking the dog and a man opened his garage door. I looked inside and thought to myself how nice it would be to have a big garage like his.

Half a block down the road I realized the house and the garage was the same as mine, just not full of  crap.

I've been going out to the garage every Friday afternoon for at least six months, and grabbing some crap to put on eBay. It mostly doesn't bring much money, but I like the feeling of cleaning it out. Still a mess, but I'm making good progress.

I have a 2 car garage with a loft that has only seen one car in it since 1996, one time to wax a car in the winter.
Otherwise it is filled with a whole lot of stuff, I should have painted it when I moved in in 1996.
It was all bare sheetrock since it was built in 1968 I think it was.
This summer I got to paint it but it was a pain in the you know what.
I had to move a ton of stuff to paint it. It went slow but kept me busy most of the summer.
But as I went along I organized a lot of things and tossed some and sold things.
When the warmer weather comes I will continue. I hate burning my propane to heat it up.

My outside loop is close to the edge. I still have to put some kind of guard rail in yet.
But I never run as fast as you did in the video. Your trains hold to your rail good.
I am using tube track. a lot of o/27, I should change it to O.

I would bet we all have done something like that before.
So the whole problem was just hat the transformer not being plugged in? Ha Ha Ha, an  easy fix huh? :)
You are not alone,:)

Thought I'd run the Chrome & red 1700's today. Lionel 1700's are great and affordable. Fun to restore.

Don't they go any faster? Ha Ha Ha  ;D

Beam me up Scotty, I mean Terry.
How hard will it be to get in under there if you need to, after the top goes on?

I wish I had more room like some of you do. :(

Nice video. (thumbsup)  :)

I like the walk around, and the locomotive yard mounted on the side.
And the shelves. And trains. and the JD, A nice space. Jealous. :)

Now PARK THE CAR OUTSIDE.
Look at all the room you will have. :)

They smoke nice, run great too.
Still slows in that one spot?
But I like it, as it is slowing down for the curve automatically.

I have 3 diners made by Madison Hardware on the layout. 2 are 637 yellow/brown City of Denver coaches, one is a Lionel Ives 1691 observation. They can be seen in my videos and I think were also posted when we had the topic of Madison hardware going.

Cool, too bad you couldn't post them in the Prewar Diner thread.
I have never seen any but on eBay, which is rare.
You discussed it? Where?
Toss me a clue.........or link?
Thanks

I think years ago I saw one, I can't place where?
Train show, garage sale, Craig's list, In a magazine, internet, I don't know.  ::)

I will keep my eye open for them, and check for a signature if I see one in person.
But with these viruses going around, I won't be going out looking anytime soon. :)

Jim's White tunnel was made by zthe J. C. Schrey company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and sold under the brand S&G Novelties. They made the same tunnel in a green summer scene, and also made fences.

Here's a page with pictures of much of the J. C. Schrey Production:

http://www.binnsroad.co.uk/railways/schrey/index.html

It's interesting that the tunnel says JP Schrey, not JC Schrey.  J. CHARLES was the son, J. PAUL was the father.

John Charles Schrey was born on month day 1919, at birth place, Pennsylvania, to John Paul Schrey and Anna Margaret Schrey (born Gruss).
John was born on June 7 1882, in Marburg, Austria.
Anna was born on July 13 1896, in Pennsylvania, United States.

See what you can find on the internet when you're trying to avoid working.

Good internet sleuthing.  :)
Mystery solved.

I guess that I never saw the Atlas turntable, because, never had a large enough operating layout, until just recently.

I was wrong saying mine was 26", it is 24".
I measured it again after seeing all advertised at 24"
