Title: My prewar at my daughters house
Post by: pjdog350 on December 26, 2020, 04:26:33 AM
My years ago when my brain was not working well I was thinning out my train collection. My daughter's husbands brother has a contract with a bank where he cleans out the banks houses that the bank has gotten back. In the attic was found allot of prewar trains is great condition. Currently they are 36 miles south of my house on shelves I put for her train collection.

This is a video of a 259 & 603,604 found in the attic of a house in Dunedin Florida. It runs really great. Again this train is currently at my daughter's house on a shelf along with other trains she wanted.

I should add that the train table is the first one I had in this garage. 3 4x8 sheets of plywood. Which made a 12x8 foot table.

This video is when I first got the attic find prewar trains. I didn't realize how much I would like to keep these and my daughter said she would like them. I also gave her allot of postwar trains. She does not run them but she has everything she needs. Track, transformer and space.

I just realized that I don't see the American Flyer engine that was also found in the attic. I think it's a 3701. I'm not a American flyer guy. I know nothing about them. I did put Lionel wheels & gears on it and it does run. The motor see very nice looking. The wheels that came on it where very bad and falling apart.

You can't beat the price. :)
My Bro in law worked a payloader for the town dump for many years.
He would sit in his machine and watch people drop off stuff, after they left he would go thru the pile and save what he could.
I don't believe what some toss out!
He gave me some trains he found, he took so many items that he had to go out and rent a storage unit to hold all of the things he found.  ;D
