Title: 1915? 800 boxcar with maroon roof
Post by: murph-7 on January 30, 2021, 01:41:23 PM
I think its the earliest version of this boxcar--PENN stamping with Maroon roof..not in bad shape for its age--lots of paint!

Is that O Gauge ? Or Standard?

It is nice for it's age. When was it made?

Nice early PENN RR car! Earlier than this in PENN RR would be a clipped roof corner one, a dark green one, and a "TALL" PENN RR.

The car Larry shows is what Mike calls an 800C.

I don't have either the 800C or the 800D. The 800D might be the last car with the stamp on both ends.

It goes between the green car and the tall Penn RR Car on the top shelf in these two pictures:

Those are 3 800a cars in order by date of MFG right to left across bottom and then right to left on top 800b, 800e, 800f.
