Title: Better video settings
Post by: pjdog350 on March 23, 2021, 01:06:27 PM
Thanks Jim. I fumbled with the GoPro hero 3 (I need a better one) for hours and got a much better video image. Plus I made a tripod mount for the GoPro as I didn't have one. As you said I down loaded the GoPro app and fumbled with that for hours. Finally got to try them all a little while ago. Was real surprised how much easier it all was. The phone even starts and stops the recording.  Was able to get better lighting. Set up a shot first. I think I have much better quality now!

Got my Microsoft account straighten out now I can get the editor.

Wow, your video is much improved. I can actually see everything, can see the locos smoke, can see all the hoppers. It that Lionel fast track? I can see that too. Glad you got your phone to control the GoPro, it is so much easier.

Jim:

I think you make a bunch of short videos. Then using your editor make what you post on your you tube channel?

Yes, I take many short clips of video, download them to a file. They come through with just a # on them, so I rename the clips for content and weather they are good or bad. Then when making the video I import clips from that file to the Movie maker program, arrange and edit. You can trim out pieces you don't like, split a clip to edit another in-between, also edit sound and add text captions to the clip. It took me a while to find and learn all the functions of the program. You can make a practice video and fiddle with it to learn the functions. There are advanced functions like slow motion, picture-in -picture, others that I still have to learn. Have fun and good luck. You will be a "pro" before you know it. Jim
