Gray not brown.  One is missing so just more of a curiosity; you may wait a lifetime for another single gray bumper to show up.

Classifieds / Using Paypal?

My biggest concern is completing the transaction...the buyer wants to know that the seller will ship, the seller wants to know that the buyer will pay.  My question is, can Paypal be used as a "middle agent" to hold the payment in escrow until the buyer receives the goods and then release the payment to the seller?

In regards to your comment about tents...would be interesting to know which are Marx, which others.  I have a prized set, the Firestone set that includes the "critter" along with a dozen prone soldiers, three tents, two canopied airplanes, etc.  These are definitely Marx as the entire set came complete from the original owner.

Jim, I mistyped, the "radio car" is the official car with the red illuminated tail end.

Jim, the box is so nice, I'm going to fill it (for the time being) with the following (plus a note inside indicating this is a put together set, not to be viewed as an authentic boxed set:

897 loco and all  500 olive tender, Search light red handle, sparkling litho tank on flat, anti aircraft gun, and illuminated radio car (no antennas).  Deck is near new in appearance.  I have an extra flag pole with red wood base, some soldiers of fortune, and an extra tent with flags.  These components seem in step, sort of, with the sets 5927 and 5929.

Should you encounter a legitimate set, let me know so I can correct the fill.  Thanks!

Primarily for Jim, I have a nice army depot box with deck but no trains.  It is not listed in the Greenberg Sets Guide (5927 and 5929 are).  Any idea of the components that make up this set?

Thanks to both of you...will spend some more time investigating this....very confusing.  For example it appears that 230 and 231 locos are the very basic unit..no teledyne or electrol and the two different numbers refer only to coupler height?
Some of the front couplers are apparently activated via the tender by the usual RCS track?  I think I need to make a chart of numbers, features, coupler height, barbs, etc and see if I can make sense of this.
I have two 233 and 2233B tenders, two 227's, and one 228 to start with.  I do not have a 230 or 231, again I think that is just a conventional e unit with basic RCS couplers with the different numbers of locos designating coupler height?

Have a total of five tenders and none seem to be complete...what is supposed to be inside?
Some have spears.  All have bells  A 2233B has no middle rail pickup and no evidence one was ever there.
Only one has three wires exiting
Only one has a relay.
Various couplers and heights but don't necessarily match with the loco coupler height and style.
I seem to recall Magic Electrol refers to capability of reversing loco independently of a second loco
and Teledyne referred to the ability of uncoupling anywhere on the layout with a DC pulse?

Jim, another use would be to provide "thunder" for stage productions.  For youtube I would prefer the digital type.

Hi Jim, remember vividly meeting you and Debbie for the first time at a Rockford Illinois train convention.  I bought a wonderful Marx clock work Army set in the Army box from you and still enjoy it.
Was thinking of you just yesterday as I found 5 tin sheets of New Marx rolling stock lithography.  Have had them for decades, never got around to displaying them.  Almost tempted to get out the tin snips and make the cars, like the paper train.  However with my skills that would be a real disservice to your lovely production models.
