Thank you for coming to my web site. I have spent quite a bit of time designing this site so as it grows it will be easy to find everything. All of the pages may not work, but will in the near future. I have included all the links above so I don't have to come back later and add them. If you have advice about what you think will make my site easier to navigate please send me an email here. Your comments are always welcome.

To make it easier for you to navigate my site, I have placed these explanations here.

The top of every page has a cluster of links. Here is an explanation of each link:

• The Train99.com logo in the upper left hand corner of every page is a link to the Train99 home page.
• The New Products Review Board will be a place to share information about new trains and related items. I will add this board in early May.
• The What's New On Train99 link will always take you to a list of new additions to the site.
• This is the Site Map. It explains all the pages of the site.
• Search Train99 is a search engine so you can search the entire site to find exactly what you're looking for. It will be added in the middle of June.
• On the General Topics Discussion Board you can post questions to other collectors and operators on almost any topic. And, you can share your knowledge by answering questions posted by others. You can even put pictures of the trains you're asking about with your question so you can show them exactly what you are talking about. I will add this board by early May.

On the main page there is a list of areas within the site. Here are the areas explained:

• Profiles is a listing of the contributors to this site. Some of the contributors have written articles or allowed me to photograph their collections. Others will be frequent posters to the discussion boards, or collectors who have helped out with the site by providing me with information or advice.
• The Encyclopedia Of Toy Trains is a pictorial history of Toy Trains. I want to put pictures of every toy train made before 1970 on this site. In all the color variations. I have already started on the prewar Lionel O gauge. Because it is so easy to change the web pages, as the site grows and collectors share their knowledge, this will become a valuable resource for collectors.
• The How to Articles section contains articles about how to build train layouts, repair trains, buy trains, and anything else that seems relevant. Some pages are already posted, and more will be posted in the future. Check out the What's New on Train99 page to see what I've added.
• The Layouts Section will feature all types of train layouts from all over the country.
• The Links Page is full of links to other toy train information sites and train manufacturer's sites.

PS a short note about advertising. I am fed up with all these web sites that advertise content and only deliver ads. I feel like I have been ripped off when I spend the time to get to their site only to find a list of overpriced crap or a bunch of banner ads. I don't like to look at all those screaming, blinking banners and really doubt you do either. Because of my dislike for banner ads, I will not use distracting ads anywhere on my site. I would like to at least break even or maybe even make some money off this site - it is a major investment of my time and money - so I will have some banner ads. They will appear only on the General Topics Discussion Board, and will never be designed to trick you into clicking on them. How stupid do these other webmasters think we are anyway?
